The upcoming Delhi Premier League (DPL 2025) season will not feature wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant. The southpaw who turns out for Purani Dilli 6 franchise will miss this year's edition as he has suffered an injury to his right foot. The 27-year-old suffered the blow during the fourth Test against England in Manchester, which subsequently ruled him out of the five-match Test series against England.

Pant won't be seen in action for close to six weeks. His absence in the upcoming DPL 2025 season will be a significant blow for Purani Dilli 6, who also roped in as the marquee player in the DPL mega auction for INR 21 Lakhs. In the previous season, the southpaw featured in only one game for the franchise, scoring 35 off 32 balls. However, this year, the wicketkeeper-batter was set to play for a long period due to no international commitments.

The Purani Dilli 6 franchise has also invested a lot in Rishabh Pant as a player and captain of the side. The southpaw was also in good form, having scored two centuries in the Test series against England.

Vansh Bedi to lead in the absence of Rishabh Pant for Purani Dilli 6

In Pant's absence, Vansh Bedi is set to lead the Purani Dilli 6 side. The youngster now has an added responsibility of replicating last year's success of the side, which reached the semis of the DPL. Purani Dilli 6 owner Akash Nangia is optimistic about Bedi's leadership skills. The team also announced Puma as their official jersey sponsor and Radio Mirchi as their official radio partner for the upcoming season of DPL. Purani Dilli 6 will begin their campaign against Outer Delhi Warriors at the Aryn Jaitley Stadium.

The DPL 2025 season will feature eight teams. The top four from the league stage will qualify for the playoffs, with the DPL season 2 concluding on August 31.
